Inishlacken Island

Take a step back in time on this amazing deserted island with breathtaking views from every angle, pristine white sandbar beaches with turquoise water, and animals and wildlife in every direction. There are grass pathways between dry stone walls and cottages dotted along the way.

The famous artist's book Three Men on an Island was written here by James Macintyre when he, George Campbell, and Gerard Dillon spent the summer painting and, in their own words, engaging in much hard drinking and escapades in the last parish before New York! It's located out from Roundstone Bay with the Twelve Bens mountains as a backdrop.
